Known as Josh to family, friends, and clients, Josh is an Attorney with The Skeen Firm, PLLC. After earning a National Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Scholarship, Josh attended Duquesne University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science and Psychology. Following an unexpected medical discharge, Josh continued his education at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Duquesne University, earning his Juris Doctor.

While in law school, Josh gained hands-on experience in the Pittsburgh area, including serving as a member of Duquesne University’s Veterans’ Clinic and Urban Development Practicum. In these roles, he worked directly with U.S. Military Veterans involved in criminal court, giving him early exposure to the legal challenges individuals face within the criminal justice system.

Josh further developed his criminal law background through positions with the Washington County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he gained valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, and prosecuted.

In addition to his criminal law experience, Josh worked at a well-known plaintiffs’ personal injury firm in Pittsburgh. His dedication to ethics and the law has earned him several recognitions, including the Washington Health System Teen Outreach Program’s Alumni Award, an honor he is especially proud to receive.
