Thomas DeMarco was born in New York City into a poor Italian-American family. He attended school in New York and held a variety of jobs. Eventually, he left New York and went to Law School in Arkansas. Thomas applied himself and worked hard. In June 1980, he passed the bar examination as the highest scorer for the entire state of Arkansas.

After law school, he obtained employment in New Jersey and in 1983, he moved to South Jersey and immediately fell in love with the area (Philly fanatics be warned: you can take the Knicks fan out of New York, but you can’t take the New York out of the Knicks fan). Thomas worked a tad under 9 years for the Public Defender Office then opened his criminal defense practice in South Jersey in 1992.

Thomas has been published by the Camden County Bar Association. Lawyers read Bar Association articles, for guidance on what to do with a particularly tricky drug case.

Outside of the law office, the DeMarco’s are active in their local church, homeless shelters, local animal shelters, and helping raise their two granddaughters.
